JODY MORLOCK’s pictures are film strips, a chaotic mix of beautiful and darkly funny images. Morlock says her work is “a story composed of poured colors, geometric curvaceous shapes, large brush strokes and Freudian, dream-like sketches.” The show DIG reflects Morlock’s voracious absorption of all kinds of influences, from graffiti to African art to fetish objects, all sucked by her mind’s eye and jostled together in her paintings and sculptures. A self-taught artist, Morlock has participated in group shows at the Dam-Stultrager Gallery in Brooklyn and Regeneration in New York.
